Karl Broadie

Karl Broadie's first appearance at The Blue Mountains Folk Festival will also be his first shows in Australia after returning from a 5 week trip to Austin, Nashville & Los Angeles. The Award-winning singer/songwriter's latest album One Million Emeralds is his third full-length album since shifting from Scotland to the southern shores of Australia. His two previous albums, Nowhere Now Here (2003) & Black Crow Callin' (2005) launched him onto the Australian music landscape, and his performances at numerous festivals and on tour resulted in expanding his already strong fan base. A highlight of 2006 for Karl was winning the AAA/Roots category of the prestigious International Songwriting Competition for his song, ‘Black Crow Callin' - the competition attracted more than 15,000 entries. 2007 welcomed further acclaim as Karl scored a special guest spot on international roots singer Patty Griffin's national tour. His latest single “Count Your Blessings” featuring Dianna Corcoran was nominated for Vocal Collaboration for 36th CMAA Country Music Awards of Australia.

With his distinctive, emotional voice, Karl Broadie has the ability to capture the attention and heart of a listener and win him new fans (and awards) here and internationally.
