Rick Butterworth

Over the last eight years, Rick Butterworth has diligently attended the key international music conferences - MIDEM, Popkomm, South by Southwest - where he has forged partnerships and expanded his global networks. In 2001 at Midem in France, Rick was approached by key partners from The Orchard in a bid to launch their Australasian operations. This became the first Orchard office outside of the USA to be launched, thus forming the template for The Orchard's rollout of global offices and establishing key branding in the Australasian territory.

An industry figure for many years, Rick has looked after a variety of artists across a wide range of genres, both domestically and internationally. He established Stubble Records in the mid 90s - birthplace of such artists as 28 Days, Superheist and Horsehead. Having spent several years working in royalties and licensing with Shock Records he branched out and became a lecturer at NMIT, Music Business, also opened a record store in Coburg and simultaneously established RGS Entertainment - partnering deals for international touring acts.
