Rod McCormack

Long recognised as one of Australia's leading musicians and songwriters, Rod McCormack is also one of the most in-demand record producers, having produced many Gold Guitar-winning acts, including for Album, and Male and Female Vocalist of the Year. Rod has his own recording studio Music Cellar Studios on the NSW Central Coast. Rod has produced records for Gina Jeffreys, Paul Kelly, Adam Harvey, Beccy Cole and many more.

As a songwriter, Rod has written dozens of Top 5 hits, along with the theme songs and background music for a number of successful TV shows, and won number of songwriting awards.

As a musician Rod has gained the reputation of Australia's finest banjo player, winning competitions in USA as well as Australia, and is recognised as one of the finest acoustic guitarists in the country. He has toured and played with many leading US artists such as Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash, Sherrie Austin, Jamie O'Neal and Kris Kristofferson and was musical director for Trisha Yearwood, LeeAnn Rimes, Pam Tillis, Stacey Dean Campbell and Jo Dee Messina on their Australian tours.

Rod has travelled regularly to Nashville over the past 10 years to co-write with many leading songwriters for his recording projects, and has toured Australia, USA and Europe playing for Kasey Chambers, and bluegrass group The Greencards.

For the past 2 years Rod has been the musical director and radio producer for the CMAA Awards concert and TV broadcast.
