Scott Saunders (DIG)

Scott Saunders is one of the founding members of the popular acid jazz band, Directions in Groove (DIG).

DIG released several albums with “Speakeasy” and “Deeper” reaching double platinum sales. Nominated for Best Breakthrough Single in 1994 and Best Breakthrough Album in 1995 at the ARIAs, DIG took out the Most Performed Jazz Work at the 1994 and 1996 APRA Music Awards.

More recently, Scott has composed music for Film and Television, including the themes for "Year of the Dogs", "In the Line of Fire" and "Bitter Harvest".

Earlier this year Scott was commissioned by Paul Grabowsky for the Queensland Music Festival to write the score and MD on a huge community musical in Longreach called THE GREATEST SHOW IN EARTH. This involved spending a month in the outback writing and arranging for Brass Band, Choir, Highland pipes and Drums, Country singers and 20 choreographed Horses!

Following this he composed and produced music and sound design for the Griffin Theatre's critically acclaimed production of "King Tide" by Katherine Thompson.

He is currently working on TV soundtracks and Teaching Music Composition and Production at the Australian Institute of music.
