Wayne Connolly

Wayne Connolly is a Sydney-based producer/engineer and musician who has worked with literally hundreds of Australian bands and artists in the last two decades, including The Vines, Youth Group, Josh Pyke, You Am I,Dallas Crane, 78 Saab, Grant McLennan, Died Pretty, The Fauves, Underground Lovers, Red Riders, Even, Custard, Polaroids, Silverchair, Sarah Blasko, Jim Moginie, Evan Dando, and Belles Will Ring.

After graduating with an electrical engineering degree from UNSW, Wayne spent several years working as a software developer for companies such as Fairlight and Passac before landing a job as studio manager at Paradise studios in the early nineties.

In 2007 he was awarded the best engineer and best producer ARIAs  for his work on the breakthrough Josh Pyke album, Memories and Dust. He has also received an ARIA for his work on You Am I's Hourly Daily and nominations for Youth Group (after recording their breakthrough single Forever Young) and The Vines.

He is also a respected songwriter and musician in his own right, having released numerous albums here and internationally with bands The Welcome Mat and Knievel. With Knievel he has toured both the US and Japan playing at both the SXSW and CMJ conventions.

He has also branched into film and TV with recent compositions for ABC TV and music production work for feature films Black Balloon, Monkey Puzzle and Newcastle.
